Neem oil is a very popular oil used to prevent pests and mites from infesting plants. It is a oil that is extracted from seed kernels from the Neem tree. It also is used on humans sometimes to help deal with the symptoms of skin conditions such as eczema and dandruff. You can get Neem Oil in many different forms such as powders, concentrates and pre-made solutions. This oil is a deterrent for spider mites and insects when used as a barrier on plants.

Key Takeaways:

  • Neem oil is safe and nontoxic to plants and is also used on humands to help prevent things like lice and dandruff.
  • Mite-Rid is the most popular form of neem oil but it is also found in power form, concentrates and ready made solutions.
  • Mite-Rid creates a barrier on plants that prevents insects and pests from destroying the plants.

“Neem oil when applied to mite infested plants for example will disrupt the feeding cycle of them which causes starvation, halts breeding cycles and the oil also smothers and suffocates any pests/mites directly sprayed with it. It will take care of all 3 types of spotted mites, thrip, springtails and caterpillars.”
